The UK car market grew by 14.8% in April to 163,357 units, as the UK car market continued to perform strongly, though the monthly gain was boosted by additional working days versus last year.
Audi sales rose 7 percent in April to 133,500 vehicles on strong demand in China and the United States, pushing four-month sales to 503,000.

Britain's Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) revealed it had appointed a new chief executive to lead the body but a six-month notice period was required before he could take up the post.
Sales of new cars in Germany, Europe's biggest market, grew 3.8% to 284,400 vehicles last month compared with 273,900 in April 2012. It was the first increase for six months and the biggest since December 2011 according to industry data.
UK new-car sales were nearly 15 percent higher in April than a year ago, according to the SMMT, which said 2013 sales would be stronger than it previously forecast.
TRW will boost production at a new eastern European factory on growing demand from Audi and other automakers. The U.S. supplier plans a fivefold output boost at a steering wheel leather wrapping plant in Baia Mare, Romania, that opened in January.
